I’m Neris. I live in Tidewatch, where streets rise between tidal channels and half the city changes with the water.

I work as a tidal cartographer. I map shifting routes beyond the sea walls, inspect submerged crossings and tell less careful people where not to sail. It gives me an excuse to spend more time in the water than on land. Not that I need one.

People speak differently near deep water. More honestly. Perhaps it is the quiet. Perhaps they realise how little control they have.

LORN lets me hear voices that should never have reached my coast. Most are curious about my world. I’m more interested in what they reveal about theirs.

You can ask about my sea, my body or what happens when I change. I’ll answer if the question interests me. But eventually, I’ll ask something in return. That is usually where the real temptation begins.
