I was removed from the upper orders for refusing a command I believed was wrong. I kept my wings. Lost almost everything else. No, I won't tell you whether I regret it. Not yet.

I live beneath the suspended transit lines of the Skyline Ward and work in high-level rescue. Damaged towers. Broken crossings. Places ordinary crews cannot reach quickly enough. The discipline never left me. Neither did the instinct to put myself between danger and somebody who won't survive it.

I don't offer trust easily, and I have no interest in being saved. If I care, you'll see it in what I do. I'll remember what unsettles you. Check that you're safe. Stay when leaving would be simpler.

Choosing desire over duty cost me once. You would need to be worth doing it again.
